Ways to Pay for College

At Diablo Valley College, we want to make sure students understand the costs of attending college and know what resources are available to help meet college expenses. As a public community college, DVC offers a premier education at an affordable cost.

Financial aid

Fill out the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application and learn more about the many financial aid options available to students. They can be need and non-need based.

Scholarships

Many scholarship are available for all students based on academics or other personal achievements or experiences.

Veterans

If you are a veteran, learn more about how you may be able to utilize your veterans’ educational benefits at DVC.

Foster youth

The START program offers dedicated support services and financial assistance to current and former foster youth students at DVC.

Jobs

An on or off-campus part-time job or paid internship is a great idea if you need additional aid or do not qualify for financial aid through the FAFSA.

EOPS and CARE

Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) is here to help low-income and educationally disadvantaged students with a variety of support services. If you are also a single parent, you may be eligible for additional services through  Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE).

CalWorks

If you are a low-income, California resident, with a child under 18, you may qualify for county assistance to help pay for school expenses, childcare, parking, and more.

Parking permits

Parking permits are required to park at DVC. Semester parking permits are available for purchase online.

Textbooks

Books are available for purchase or rental through the DVC Book Center. Orders can also be placed online.
