After You Apply

Check your status and review your checklist

About two weeks after submitting your application online, the DVC Financial Aid Office will send a follow-up email to your InSite account  with more instructions.

You may be required to review your Financial Aid Checklist accessible through your InSite account by logging in with your username and password.

NEW:To access information related to your 2017-2018 FAFSA make sure to click on Financial Aid (2017-2018) under Quicklinks from the InSite Portal student menu.

The Checklist may list documents or forms you will need to submit so we can confirm the information on your FAFSA  is correct. The financial aid coordinator will compare what you reported on the FAFSA with the documents you are asked to provide and change any errors found on your application.

You may access the  financial aid forms  you are required to submit directly from your Checklist or on our website.

Drop in to submit missing documents

After you have printed, gathered, and completed all documents listed on the Financial Aid Checklist, visit the Financial Aid Office during drop-in hours to submit your forms.

Please note, only general questions about financial aid are answered at the front counter during office hours. If you have specific questions, have documents to submit, and/or wish to speak to a financial aid coordinator, you are required to visit during drop-in hours. If you are unable to submit your documents in person, please contact our office for more information at financialaid@dvc.edu .

Select how you want to receive your aid

You have two electronic options for receiving financial aid.

ACH Transfer (direct deposit)

Financial aid can be deposited directly into your existing bank account and will be available within 3-5 business days from the date it is scheduled to be paid. Time frames may be different depending on your bank's policy.

CollegeCash Card

Aid will be available by the end of the day it is scheduled to be paid.

If you do not select one of the electronic payment methods, your funds will be mailed within 5-10 business days.

To sign up for one of these options, visit  CollegeCash  and click enroll today. Your login will be your student ID number, date of birth, and InSite email address.  Please note that only students that have completed the FAFSA or California DREAM Act Application will be able to sign up.

You may also review our  Financial Aid Disbursement Options FAQs  for answers to frequently asked questions about these payment options.

Check your award letter

You will receive an award letter email in your DVC  InSite account  about 2-4 weeks after your drop-in meeting with a financial aid coordinator. The award letter will list the type and amount of financial aid you qualify to receive.

All financial aid students are required to check their DVC student email account through the InSite Portal on a regular basis in order to receive notifications, file status updates, announcements, and further instructions from the Financial Aid Office. Follow the link for instructions on  how to check your financial aid status through the InSite Portal.
