The DVC Professional Development Program designs and supports professional growth activities and training for management, faculty and classified staff. The DVC Professional Development mission is to support quality teaching, learning, and support services aimed at student success. To this end, Professional Development provides the necessary resources for employees to develop and fulfill career, personal and professional needs and goals.
Professional Development supports workshops focused on topics including curriculum development, SLO development and implementation, teacher research, workplace and instructional technology, human resource issues and concerns, faculty orientation, and peer evaluation.
Professional Development offers campus-wide activities to management, faculty and classified staff on topics including health and wellness issues, student services, and campus field trips. Funding for college-wide activities which appeal to management, faculty, classified staff, students and the surrounding community is vetted through Professional Development as well.
The Professional Development conference room and computer lab are available to management, faculty and classified staff for meetings, trainings, and individual work.
