DVC Foundation

Our mission is to develop resources and relationships for DVC that ensure institutional excellence, and result in an exceptional educational experience for its students.

Established in 1975, the DVC Foundation is an incorporated, non-profit 501(c)3 organization overseen by an independent, community-based board of directors. The members of this 100% giving board are actively engaged in the fundraising and the fiscal stewardship of our foundation.

During 2015-16, the DVC Foundation raised $1,262,387, $376,750 in student scholarships, $381,477 for Student-Focused Programs and had over 25 President’s Roundtable Members.

Why Support DVC?

DVC is committed to increasing student success by providing students with the knowledge and background necessary to compete in today’s economy. DVC has distinguished itself as one of the nation’s most successful community colleges by offering incomparable transfer opportunities and exceptional career-technical programs. In both the Pleasant Hill and San Ramon campuses, a diverse student body engages with high-quality instruction and support services designed for excellence and equity in student learning. DVC’s career education programs keep pace with emerging technologies and skill requirements, while unparalleled transfer programs prepare students to be successful in four-year colleges and universities.

DVC is the number one California community college for transfers to UC Berkeley and UC Davis.

DVC's vision is to empower and transform ourselves and our community through educational excellence, equity and inclusion.

Donating to DVC

When you make a donation to DVC, you are investing in an excellent educational institution that is preparing students for the workforce of the future. The impact of a community college is best explained in these facts  from the state Chancellors office: California Community Colleges are the largest provider of workforce training in the state and nation.

  • For every $1 California invests in students who graduate from college, it will receive a net return on investment of $4.50.
  • Californians with a college degree will earn $400,000 more in their lifetime than their peers with only a high school diploma.
  • Students who earn a degree or certificate from a California community college nearly double their earnings within three years.
  • Attending or graduating from a community college doubles an individual’s chance of finding a job compared to those who failed to complete high school.
  • With academic and certificate programs, DVC promotes success in many careers that require apprenticeships, 2 year or 4 year degrees and beyond.  To ensure students can stay in school, DVC has programs designed to assist the many who are first generation college students, those who need wrap-around services such as help with books and transportation, those with food and housing insecurity, and students whose academic achievement earns them scholarships to help pay tuition .

Your donation will make all this possible.
